Find out what the AM Restorations team have been working on in 2022 in the 2022 Round-up blog. It’s been a busy and exciting year for the business.
The team have worked on some incredible classic car restoration projects, including this Triumph Stag. The classic car came into the workshop as a rolling shell for a complete inside and out restoration. The car was stripped down to it’s shell and had welding and filler work to reshape the body. Once that was completed, it was then resprayed. The mechanical and internal build-up of the car was then carried out. A fantastic achievement.
This project involved the fitting of a completely new floor, along with other minor repairs around the body of the car. The shell was then given a refresh with a new coat of paint. Raptor treatment was applied to the underside for protection and applied to the interior of the tub for a durable hard-wearing finish.
Mechanically, an upgrade was carried out on the front brakes, converting them to disc brakes, to bring them up to modern spec. The engine had many oil leaks when it arrived, therefore many new seals and gaskets were fitted to get this engine running happily.
Earlier in the year, Andy (owner and founder) and his family attended the Riviera Classic Car Show in Paignton and took along two of his very own restored cars, the Triumph Dolomite and Triumph Stag. His restoration of these two vehicles was a tribute to both his Dad and his Grandad. Andy was the co-ordinator for the Triumph Dolomite Club for 10 years, which he has again now taken responsibility for. Also attending the show were two of AM’s customers, who brought along their vehicles that had been restored by the team and even picked up awards. Congratulations to Barry Myers, who has owned his Triumph 2000 from new, and has since been completely rebuilt from nut and bolt. He won best in class at the show. Also, congratulations to Wayne Bendell who brought his Triumph 2500s to the show, and also picked up an award for best in class.
10th Anniversary Celebrations at AM Restorations
2022 has been an incredible milestone for AM Restorations as they celebrated their 10th anniversary. As a master technician by trade and a member of the Stag club, owner and founder Andy Moss decided to take the plunge and set up the business in 2012. Marking their 10th Anniversary, the team thanked all of their customers from the bottom of their hearts for supporting the business and continuing to come to them for classic car restoration work.Triumph Stag Restoration Project
