Painting
We take immense pride in the quality of our work. Our team of skilled professionals is equipped with the latest technology from Novol, and techniques to ensure that every vehicle that passes through our doors receives the best possible finish. We use a specialised booth and oven to paint and bake all vehicles on-site, which helps us maintain a high degree of control and precision.
Bare Metal Resprays
The car is stripped down to its bare metal, including the interior. Any damaged sections are repaired, and the car is painted. This type of respray is the most thorough, as it considers the condition of the whole vehicle and guarantees a consistent finish.
Partial Resprays
This involves prepping and painting only a specific section of the car while leaving the rest untouched. The process includes flattening the existing paint, fixing imperfections, and applying fresh paint to the desired area.
Full Resprays
With a full respray, the previous paint is smoothed out, and any flaws are rectified before the entire vehicle is repainted. Full Resprays offer a superb finish; however, they don’t allow for a thorough examination of the car’s body condition.

The AM Restoration Paint Process.
At AM Restorations, we specialise in bringing people’s visions to life. Have you ever wondered about the respray process? Let us guide you through it:
Inspection and Stripping
First the car is stripped and given a thorough inspection.
Epoxy Primer
For a bare metal the car an epoxy primer coat is applied to prevent oxidisation.
Welding and Filler
Any necessary welding and filler work is carried out.
Polyester Spray Filler
A polyester spray filler coat is applied and sanded to provide a uniform surface and finish for primer.
Primer
We then prime the car with a high build 2k primer before de-masking and sanding.
Re-mask
Next we re-mask the car for the top coat carrying out a full degrease prior to spraying.
Painting Stage
The topcoat is then applied. A choice of Clear Coat over Base or 2K paint. Panels, door shuts, the boot and the engine bay are all sprayed separately.
Buffing
Finally, the car is buffed for a deep, lasting mirror shine.
