REFIT
This week sees the car moving to the final stages of the refit. We carry out a road test, draw up a snagging list of final checks to carry out and fit the hardtop to the car.
REFIT AND TRIMMING
The refit of the car continues. We also start the trimming work. Firstly the T bar has the foams and vinyl cover replaced before being fitted to the car. The rear seat is next as the rear squab has a new vinyl cover fitted. The wood of the dash is replaced and also fitted to the car.
BODYWORK AND REFURBISHING
This week sees repairs carried out to one of the chassis legs. An area around the rear floor pan is also removed and replaced. A section of the boot floor is replaced around the exhaust hanger area and new exhaust mounts fitted. Filler work to the shell continues. While this work is being carried out the rest of the suspension items are stripped down sand blasted and painted.
BODYWORK
This week sees a new door skin fitted to the near side door. The inside of the door and the new panel are painted for rust prevention before the skin is fitted. The door is then trial fitted on the car. Filler work continues to the rear quarters and the rear valance. While this work is being done we start to strip down and clean the suspension.
WELDING
This week sees the near side front floor pan welded in and primed for protection. A previous bad repair is cut out and a new section let into the near side screen scuttle area. Repairs around the off side front floor pan to sill area are carried out and a section of the floor removed a new section will be fabricated and welded in.
WELDING
We start the welding around the engine bay area. Fitting a replacement top front panel, replacing the area of the bulkhead for the servo with the correct panel, a section of the offside front inner wing is also replaced to look factory. The gearbox tunnel that had been modified is also replaced. We then remove the offside rear quarter panel and prepare to fit a new panel.
