You are of course welcome to contact the workshop or make a personal visit at any time to discuss any of the work that is taking place.

REFIT
This week sees the refit continue to move forward. Items are refurbished or cleaned as required before refitting. The door internals are built up replacing the door top weather seals. The drop glass and mechanisms are put into all the doors. The rechromed exterior handles are fitted. The operation of the handles and locks is checked. Finally before we look to fit the door cards etc the internals of the doors are given a waxoyl treatment.
REFIT
This week sees the refit of the car continues with ancillaries being refitted in the engine bay. The wood sections of the dashboard were repaired where the veneer had lifted and broken, these were then sanded down ready to be varnished. The steel wheels where sand blasted and then sent to the booth for painting. Now installed the brakes are then bled.
RESPRAY AND REFIT
This week sees the respray continue as panels are primed inside and out. The insides of the doors, bonnet and bootlid then have colour applied. The fuel flap and scuttle panel are also painted.
While the panels are being painted the refit of the shell continues: The engine is assembled with rebuilt carbs, refurbished manifold and the clutch and flywheel are fitted. The engine is then installed along with an alternator conversion, new fuel lines are made up and fitted. The exterior has the indicator and sidelights cleaned and refitted along with the headlamp bowls. Attention is paid to detail as a new air feed pipe cover is made to replace the damaged item.
FILLER, SPRAY FILLER AND PAINT
This week sees completion of the filler work. This is followed by a spray filler coat to remove any imperfections. This is then block sanded and a primer coat applied. The boot area is prepared, primed and painted in Sapphire Blue. Next to be painted will be the engine bay.
Engine work and bodywork
This weeks sees the engine reassembles with new timing chain, spark plugs, oil pump, gaskets and any other items in need of renewal. On the bodywork side the underside of the boot is prepared, any rusted areas taken back to bare metal and then treated with an anti-rust treatment. The near side rear quarter of the shell has filler applied. We also bare metal the N/S/R and O/S/R doors. The bonnet is given the same treatment as the bootlid, bare metalled in corroded areas with the rust patches ground out then treated.
FILLER WORK
This week sees the bonnet trial fitted ensuring the lining up to the wings and panel gaps are correct. Filler work is carried out around the front panel. The bonnet also has filler work carried out and then visits the booth to have a spray filler coat applied to take out any final imperfections.
WELDING AND ENGINE WORK
This week sees a small repair to the near side rear quarter panel. The bulkhead and battery tray are repaired. We also reconstruct the damaged off side headlamp mounting panel. The engine return from the engine shop having had a crank grind, the block surfaced, unleaded seats, the head surfaced, the valves faced, the seats cut and new pistons. The timing cover and rocker cover are also cleaned and painted.
WELDING
We now move on to the near side. The outer sill is removed to reveal work that is required to the inner sill. Sections are replaced and jacking points made to replace the rotten items. Repairs are carried out to the inner sill and where the A and B posts meet the sill, then the outer sill is fitted.
WELDING
We start the welding work by removing the off side sill. Reconstruction work is carried out on the inner sill before the outer one can be fitted. Areas that are replaced and any inner sections revealed are treated before new sections are welded in. The inner wheel arch is reconstructed and the outer sill welded in place after trial fitting with the doors for the correct gaps.
